At long last.

UCLA has beaten USC 13-9 in football. After all these years of following and covering UCLA sports, I can't tell you how satisfying it is to see the pendulum swing in our direction for once. For years, UCLA's fine sports have dominated USC's, but we never get any credit because of one thing: football. Now, we have bragging rights for a year. Man it feels good.

I give a lot of credit to those guys; that couldn't have been easy; the Trojan football teams and fans alike are relentless and intimidating, but somehow they kept their heads in the game and did what they had to do. My gosh, well done!

Ah yes, this event harks the Legendary Cinderalla team of Westwood which upset USC in the 1965 Southern Campus Big Game (I was there in the Colliseum)- then went on to beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl! What a rush, what a time, -what a way to launch the careers of all those stock brokers and real estate magnates, who have of course become significant contributors to the athletic fund.

It was I - who alerted your host on this blog, he who is now embedded into Japanese Society and implements US strategy of stealing food from the children, it was I - Clarion of California -who brought our host into the bright spotlight of this blessed Football Upset Classic Kaput! (abbreviated "FUCK!"). Within 4 minutes of the final exclamation point of the game, I had - a.) Phoned my son in NY, ... and b.) Emailed JayTay san in Japan. As disbelief quickly melted and recognition of this extraordinary event morphed into bravura, I smiled with an inward glow, seeing how well we had nurtured theese fine Baby Bruins and unleashed them upon an unsuspecting world.
